چکیده
Background: Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most common surgical conditions. In absence other comorbidities, it can be performed as a day-care procedure. Spinal anesthesia preferred technique this surgery. Local anesthetics having rapid and smooth onset action, good intraoperative analgesia, short recovery period, least side effects are preferred. Aims Objectives: The objective study was to compare anesthetic efficacy intrathecal 1% isobaric 2-chloroprocaine (CP) 0.5% ropivacaine for inguinal surgeries. Materials Methods: Sixty patients with ASA grade I/II scheduled elective surgeries were randomly allocated into group C (n=30), received 3 mL 2- CP R intrathecally. Results: Demographic profile, mean time sensory blockade at T10, highest level blockade, maximum motor comparable among groups (P>0.05). in T7 T8. two segment regression, complete recovery, parameters achieving discharge criteria such unassisted ambulation, drink water, micturition, first rescue analgesia significantly shorter (P<0.0001). Visual analog scale score higher Intraoperative hemodynamic changes perioperative Conclusion: provides faster block resolution, earlier hospital discharge, early ambulation minimal effects, making better alternative

Efficacy and Appropriate Dosage of Isobaric Ropivacaine for Spinal Anesthesia in Patients Undergoing Elective Lower Limb Orthopaedic Surgeries
Background: The dose response of ropivacaine has not been extensively determined yet. This study was conducted to estimate minimum effective local anaesthetic dose and to assess the duration of sensory and motor block, and side effects if any, of intrathecal administration of ropivacaine for lower limb surgeries. Materials and Methods: 120 patients aged between 20 years and 60 years of either s...

OBJECTIVE: Ropivacaine, a local anesthetic with duration of action of 2-3 hours, has shown greater selectivity for sensory blockade along with lower systemic toxicity as compared to bupivacaine when used for spinal anesthesia. This study was aimed to compare the intrathecal efficacy and safety of 0.75% isobaric ropivacaine for cesarean delivery with 0.5% heavy bupivacaine in parturients. MATERI...
